Berlin based interior architecure Studio Karhard choose to apply Plectere in a dermatology practice in a typical old building in Berlin Schöneberg. Originally built as residence the rooms were not the size that were needed for a health practice. The architecs can up with various solutions, one of them being Plectere acoustic seperation panel in the consulting room.
The Plectere panel creates a kind of corridor that connects two doors, allowing a receptionist to slip through the consultation room without disturbing the consultation too much. The slightly curved panel provides a slightly framed and somewhat protected space for the medical consultation. In addition it improves the acoustics in the room and reduces reverberation, necessary because the rest of the surfaces - apart from the seating - are rather hard.
Lutz Kneissl of Studio Karhard: "The colours of the project are based on a wide variety of skin tones. The design of the Plectere-panel reminded us very much on a highly physical object, like bones. This formed a very good contrast to the warm and rather friendly colours and shapes in the practice."

Plectere collaborates with KNOLL-Filzfelt

Early May, for the first time since the start of the pandemic, we visited the Filzfelt production facility and headquarters in Buffalo, America. Filzfelt is part of the Knoll Inc / Spinneybeck group and produces and sells Plectere worldwide, with the exception of the Benelux. We visited the production facility that we have only been able to manage online for the past two years. The craftsmanship and dedication we find with these great partners is really amazing.
We were also super happy with the further development of our new concepts and products, which will probably be presented after the summer.. We feel blessed, very happy and proud of this collaboration.

What to do with the leftover felt strips from the production of PLECTERE? Felt leftovers were stored for a while, but as production intensified and felt suppliers were also offering their remnants to use for new designs the necessity of answering this question became evident. Meet Re_play, a beautiful circular acoustic panel.
Re_play is composed of 9 strips of wool felt, sewed together to a total width of 45 cm. The upper and lower part of the element is completely closed, the opening curved part is 70 cm high and at view height when standing. The total element is 200-250 cm high, but all sizes can also be customized.
The leftovers strips have little holes and spots and most certainly the remnants have colour differences as a result of the different colour batches. This is seen as one of the valued qualities of the Re_play range.
When passing by a Re_play panel the diversity of the structure plays around with visibility, giving it a dynamic sense to spaces. In ecru or colour, depending on what's left… so nothing of the beautiful wool material is lost.
