Woven wall piece for HQ Police The Hague

This wall hanging is handmade using the old textile technique of Sprang. The interlacing of 100% wool felt creates a rhythmic, almost organic pattern, inspired by the layering and growth of plants. The choice of colours creates an alternative green plant wall. The woven structure is supported by a frame constructed from bamboo, which enhances the natural character of the work.

A conscious choice was made to use honest, renewable materials and a construction without permanent connections. By designing the work to be demountable, all materials can easily be separated and reused at the end of their life.
